Dr Lars Madsen

Clinical Psychologist/Director

Lars has over 10 years experience working as a psychologist in both the United Kingdom and Australia. In this time, he has worked with individuals to address a range of difficulties and problems, in both community and hospital settings.

Areas of Expertise & Interests

Lars has particular experience in working with anxiety (generalised anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder), trauma, sexual dysfunction and behaviour problems. He utilised evidenced based therapies and interventions for a clients specific problems and difficulties. He enjoys working with individuals in a gentle and respectful manner, and endeavors to provide therapy that allows the individual to gain skills and knowledge to assist them with overcoming the difficulties that they may be experiencing, however, also enhancing their quality of life.

Lars has specific interests in mindfulness meditation and neuroscience.

Qualifications & Background

Lars completed his Master degree in Clinical Psychology in Australia before obtaining a Ph.D. in psychology at University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England. Prior to working at Your Psychology Clinic he worked within the National Health Service in England with clients with complex needs. Lars has specific experience providing psychological reports for criminal and civil courts and has published research in academic journals as well as presented at international conferences. He is a member of the APS College of Clinical and Forensic Psychologists.
